The Progress-Test in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery (ORL–HNS) is a formative, comprehensive knowledge assessment set at the level expected of a newly qualified specialist. Developed within the framework of the European Board Examination, it supports the goal of harmonising knowledge and competencies in specialist training across Europe.
The test offers a broad overview of candidates’ current knowledge, making individual progress visible over time. Taken once or at regular intervals, it allows participants to track their development, benchmark against peers at different stages of training, and focus their learning where it is most needed.

QUICK GUIDE – EBE ORL-HNS PROGRESS TEST
Here's a quick overview of how the Progress test works, from signing up to getting your results.
Registration
- Create your profile (used for all future Progress Tests to track progress).
- Enter your personal details.
- Pay fee: EUR 60 (credit card only).
- Receive confirmation of registration & payment (contact us if not received).
Mock Exam (before Progress Test)
- Purpose: test system to get to know the platform, solve technical issues, practice format.
- Invitation + login link sent with confirmation of registration
- Open till October 24th - 12pm CET
Progress Test (Online)
- Reminder email: 1 day before the test
- Date/Time: October 25th, 2025 | Start: 10 am CET
- 100 questions, to be completed in 2.5 hours (150 minutes)
- The exam will automatically close after 3 hours
After the Test - 10days
- Certificate of participation
- Individual results report: total score out of 100 points, plus separate scores (points achieved) in the subsections Rhinology, Otology, and Head & Neck
